By: Alex Kack The Roman Catholic Church has chosen to translate the rite of exorcism from Latin into English for the first time in history. The decision was made by the Catholic Bishops of America last month. While the rite is being translated it will still only be made available to Bishops and others they clear for access to it including clergy approved to perform exorcisms. An appendix to the document has also been translated, titled The Prayers Against the Powers of Darkness it will be made available to the public as pocket sized book. The prayers are said to help the faithful against possession and other attacks from dark forces. Exorcism conducted by the church is rare in the modern era however does is still practiced under certain circumstances. In the event an exorcism is deemed necessary a mental health professional is usually first consulted and a variety of other steps are taken to ensure the safety and anonymity of the afflicted. Prayers
